Meeroona co-founded Travel Away in 2012 and has been its Editor-in-Chief ever since – fourteen years spent working out whether a place is worth someone else’s time.
Based in southern Spain, she writes mostly about Europe: small hotels with character, restaurants where locals still outnumber visitors, coffee worth crossing a city for, and the architecture and design that make a place feel like itself and nowhere else. She has also tested more suitcases than most people and can tell you which ones survive a cobblestone street.
She’ll happily walk five extra blocks for memorable food or a museum where the gift shop is as thoughtfully curated as the exhibition.
