Winter season – with its Christmas shopping frenzy, fabulous holiday displays, seasonal skating rinks full of life, and beautiful parks covered in solitude and velvety snow – brings the best out of New York City.

And how better to sum up this feel than with a compilation of stunning photographs that evoke not just the look, but also the mood of this mind-blowing melting pot of people, cultures and dreams.

Fortunately, our favorite NYC photographer, Vivienne Gucwa, managed to capture it in all its glory. To see for yourself, take a look at her popular Tumblr blog NY Through The Lens, or better yet, check out her first photography book, also called NY Through The Lens.

In the meantime, go grab a cup of hot chocolate and feast your eyes on Vivienne’s magnificent shots of wintery New York City.
